Blog Roundup: 30 April 2012 – 6 May 2012

At slaw.ca, Gary P. Rodrigues described the effort undertaken by librarians to fix many of the problems with the Canadian Abridgment.  It’s an excellent lesson in librarians organizing to change a legal research product to better suit their research needs.

Carol Ebbinghouse, writing for Information Today, discussed the LexisNexis deal with Overdrive. The coverage includes how this could affect libraries and their use of Lexis eBooks. It’s a topic that will come up again in CRIV’s Vendor Roundtable at the Annual Meeting in July.

At Law Librarian Blog Joe Hodnicki questioned West’s use of limited-time deals and promotions on its online store, specifically calling into question the practice’s effect on West’s regular standing order customers.
