Docket analytics study finds women less likely to get a day in court

Oh, to be a television lawyer.  You take a case on Monday and by Tuesday morning you are in court making a speech to the judge about what justice demands.  Of course for real attorneys, a day actually in court is the exception not the rule. And if you happen to be a woman, your chances of making a court appearance drop precipitously.

This is the grim conclusion reached by Michael Sander, a former litigator, founder of Docket Alarm and now Director of Fastcase Analytics, after analyzing a large set of court dockets.  While some firms did better than others, on the whole women were exceedingly underrepresented in court appearances by major firms.
